it wont turn on, there is no sound of an electrical current

The first thing to try is to unplug the unit for 30 minutes and plug it back in and try it. If the unit had a temporary glitch in the software it should reboot and clear the problem and work. If this does not solve your problem I have a tip at

http://www.fixya.com/support/r6396176-projection_tv_troubleshooting

which will walk you through the troubleshooting procedure for a crt projection tv.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Sony Bravia - no picture, no sound. Just a blank screen. We were watching a show and the screen went blank and no sound.

First thing to try: unplug from the wall; count to ten; plug back in; try again

Second thing to try: unplug from the wall; count to 10,000 (or wait 10 minutes or so); plug back in; try again

#1 worked for me when it would power on with no video, no sound, just small green light + white logo

no sound from any source

ICheck first the video cable at the back of receiver.

If that does n ot work , then unplug power cord and all cables , wait ten minutes and plug back.

Try replacing the cables at the back.

Try using a different type of connection cable.

If still no luck, then the unit can be faulty.

Sound Issues

I believe that's a PTK195 chassis. Yo can verify that with the small sticker on the back panel of the unit. If so, there are a number of things to test: C11637 (1uf/16v Smd) off pin 16 of U11600 R13147 surface mount off pin 50 of micro C11611 (10uf/16v) C11604 (3.3uf/50v) C11623 (4.7uf Or 10uf) Audio output IC U11901 (RCA p/n#235446) IC is located at the front left of the board as viewed from the rear of the unit. R14139 (241320) for change or open condition Q11900 SMD near output IC, RCA p/n#215495 and lastly Q11900 the mute transistor. If ANY of this has you scratching your head take it to the shop and take these notes with you... One or more of the above is your answer and none of it is all that expensive... You could save a bit of money by taking the unit into the shop yourself too. Good Luck! Bill
