1.screw the cable line into the (F-connector)port in the back of the modem just like a tv does.2.then use the RJ-45 lan cable supplied with the modem, plug it into the RJ-45 port in the back of the modem.3.then plug the other end of the cable into the computers RJ-45 port.4.then power on the modem by pluging it in,and letting it boot and detect the internet signal and all lights are on and in working order.then start surfing. The only time you will need the install cd is if you need to use the usb hook up on the modem.

I have two ParkerVision WR1500 4-port Wireless DSL/Cable Routers. The first one I have connected my Ethernet Cable from my modem to the WAN port. This is where I get my Internet Signal. My understanding is this is sending the Internet Signal out. In another room I have a Desktop PC with an Ethernet Card. I plug my second ParkerVision WR1500 4-Port Wireless DSL/Cable Router into the Ethernet Port on my PC and the other cable into the Lan Port 1 on the ParkerVision. I am unable to pick up the Internet Signal. Can you help?

You won't get internet connection that way because there is no connection between the first parkervision and the 2nd one.
Best way is use only one parkervision router. Connect WAN port to modem for internet, 1st lan port connect to your pc and 2nd lan port connect to 2nd pc in other room. 2nd way is, use only one parkervision. Connect WAN port to modem for internet, 1st lan port connect to your pc, setup wireless SSID and connect your 2nd pc to this router for internet wirelessly. Assuming your 2nd pc has wireless capability.

I have a NETGEAR wire/wireless router MBR624GU. My internet provider is Comcast using a high speed internet modem by Ambit model U10C018. I connected the Comcast modem to Router LAN port using a Ethernet cable and the PC to the router using another Ethernet cable but the internet access do not work. In the Comcast web site the netgear router model MBR624GU is not included in the list of supported routers. The question is: Can I find a solve this problem?

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

can i connect my xbox to my laptop /w pc usb

Xbox Network Connection using Hub

This is the most common network configuration and is also the easiest to setup.
Step #1: Plug your network cable(RJ-45 cable) that comes from your cable/DSL modem into the uplink port of your hub. (Make sure that your uplink is switched to "on").
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from one of the ports of the hub, directly to the Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in your computer.
Step #3: Take another RJ-45 cable and run it from a different port of your hub directly to your xbox.
**NOTE** A switch may be used in place of a hub with the same basic setup.**

That's it! No other network changes should be needed for this configuration. Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC.

Xbox Network Connection using Router

This is another common network configuration.
Step #1: Plug your network cable(RJ-45 cable) that comes from your modem into the WAN port of your router.
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from one of the ports of the router, directly to the Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in your computer.
Step #3: Take another RJ-45 cable and run it from a different port of your router directly to your xbox.

**NOTE** In steps #2 and #3, you should not use a port that is directly beside the "uplink" port on your router, if your uplink port is being used to connect to another routing device.** If your router has a built in firewall, you will need to forward ports 8602 both incoming and outgoing to the internal ip address of your pc. Consult your device manaul for port forwarding.

That's it! Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC

Xbox Network Connection using Crossover Cable

This is the last network configuration. For this setup you need at least one NIC card.
Step #1: Plug your USB cable that comes from your modem into your PC's USB port. This should already be done, if you have a usb modem for your current internet connection.
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from an installed NIC card on your PC, directly to the Xbox.

**NOTE** A crossover cable is only needed if you are connecting the Xbox directly to the second NIC card. If you have a device such as a switch, hub or router in between you should use a standard RJ-45 cable. This type of network setup also requires "Winroute©", a program downloadable from the world wide web. Consult the manual for specific instructions on how to set this up. Also if you have a USB ethernet adapter, you may use any of the setups described herein. USB ethernet adapter basically converts a USB cable into an RJ-45 cable.

That's it! Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC.
