Belkin F5D7234-4 v1 (important thing)

In Belkin f5d7234-4 v1(only version 1) router, do not disable "WiFi protected setup" learn more about wps

  • If you do so, then the router will no longer work in 90% of cases.
  • The WiFi protected setup is enabled by default in this model.
  • The computers using XP,vista,win7 may not connect to the wireless network.
Solution:
In that case you can add the wireless network manually in the computer.Still if it says error message as "windows cannot connect",then follow these steps according to your operating system.

WINDOWS XP:
Start>
Control Panel>Network and Internet Connections(Network connections)>Right Click Wireless Network Connection icon>Click on Properties>authentication tab>uncheck IEEE authentication

WINDOWS VISTA:
Start>
Control Panel>Network and Internet (Network and Sharing Center)>On your left hand side click on Manage Network connections>Right Click on Wireless Network Connection icon>Click on Properties>authentication tab>uncheck IEEE authentication

WINDOWS 7:
Start >
Control Panel>Network and Internet (Network and Sharing Center)>On your left hand side Click on Change Adapter Settings>Right Click on Wireless Network Connection icon>Click on Properties>authentication tab>uncheck IEEE authentication

  • Now try to access wireless network.
  • If it still says windows cannot connect then no other go.
  • You need to disable WiFi protected setup.This will fix the issue for sure...

enter client device pin


The client device PIN is a WPS method to connect to the network
I would suggest you disable the WPS feature and go with standard WPA or WEP

To get the PIN :
Turn off / Disable wifi in the laptop
  1. - Hardwire the computer and router
  1. - Open the router setup page ( http://192.168.2.1 )
  1. - Click wi fi Protected setup on the left side
  1. - Scroll down a little and you can find the router PIN
  1. - This is the number that you need to enter in the device
To Enable WPA Security in the wireless network
Turn off / Disable wifi in the laptop
  1. - Hardwire the computer and router
  1. - Open the router setup page ( http://192.168.2.1 )
  1. - Click wi fi Protected setup on the left side
  1. - Leave the password blank and click submit
  1. - Disable Wi Fi Protected setup at the top and click Apply Changes
  1. - Click Security under wireless on the left side
  1. - Leave the password blank and click submit
  1. - Change the security mode to WPA
  1. - Type a password
  1. - Save the changes.

I can't establish a wireless conection on any of my laptops. I have a Belkin N wireless router. If iI do get a connection the strenghth is only fair.


Hi Friend,
Please follow the below mentioned steps,

Step 1:Open a Internet explorer and type 192.168.2.1 and click on enter key

Step 2:You will see a belkin router setup page

Step 3:On your left hand side click on Wifi protected setup(WPS)

Step 4:Now it will ask for password,you leave it blank and click on submit

Step 5:Now change the WPS to disable and click on Apply Changes

Step 6:On your left hand side of the page click on Channel and ssid

Step 7:Change the Wireless Channel to either 1 or 6 and click on Apply Changes

Step 8:Now you check the Signal Strength,it will be better than before and you will have a good speed

Belkin router won't accept PIN on new computer


Hi Friend,
You need to just disable one of the option in the router,please follow the below steps

1.Type 192.168.2.1,in the Internet explorer,You will get a belkin router setup page
2.on your left hand side click on Wifi Protected Setup(WPS),it will asks for password,leave it blank and click on submit
3.It will say WPS enable,change it to disable and click on Apply Changes
4.Now try to scan and connect to the wireless networks
