Frequent disconnection when using the Belkin Routers

Question:If your router loose the Internet Connection Frequently,Please follow these steps

Step 1: Connect the Modem----->Router------->Computer(Desktop or Laptop)

Step 2: Check whether you are able to see the Wired light in the Router

Step 3: Now Check the Model Number and the Version Number of your Router.

Note: You Can find the Version and the Model Number of the Routers at the underneath of the Device,it Starts with "F5D"

Step 4: Open an Internet Explorer and type www.belkin.com/support

Step 5: Download the Firmware from the above website for the model and the version number given in your Router

Step 6: Open an Internet Explorer and type 192.168.2.1 and click GO

Step 7: Now you will be able to see the belkin router setup page

Step 8: On your Left hand side click on Update Firmware

Step 9: Now it will ask for password,leave it blank and click on Submit

Step 10: Click on Browse and select the file which you download and click on Update

Step 11: The Firmware will start update in the Router ,please dont disconnect the power cable until the process gets completed

Step 12; After you have done this now you check the internet connectivity you wont be having any issue

got your issue .....

If you are using a belkin router please try with the following steps

Step 1: Connect modem>>router

Step 2: Check whether you are able to go online

step 3: If you are able to go online connect the modem to the yellow slot on the router and then connect your computer to any one of the grey slot

Step 4: Open a new internet explorer page and type http://192.168.2.1

Step 5: You will get a router set up page

Step 6: Check towards the left column below Internet wan click on connection type and it will ask for the password and leave it blank and click submit

Step 7: Select the connection type as dynamic and hit next

Step 8: Below host name please click on change wan mac address and then hit submit

Step 9: Your status will be connected

We have plugged in the router to the instructions on the box what next not working


To restore the router to factory default settings, please do the following:
1. Unplug the router's power supply
2. Press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the router
3. Keep the reset button depressed and, at the same time, plug the power supply back in
4. Keep the reset button depressed for another 10 seconds
5. Release the reset button
======================= Manually configuration ==============================

Step 1 : Connect modem - Router - Computer ( Wired )
Step 2 : Open router setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer
Step 3 : On the left side under internet WAN click Connection Type
Step 4 : leave the Password Blank and click submit
Step 5 : Choose the connection type as dynamic and click next
Step 6 : Leave the Host name blank and click apply
Step 7 : On the left Under Internet WAN Click MAC Address
Step 8 : Click Clone and Click Apply changes
Step 9 : If the Internet status on the top right is connected
Step 10 : Then check if you have internet
Step 11 : if not Then unplug the Power Cable from the Modem And the Router
Step 12 : Plug the power Cord to the Modem
Step 13 : Wait till all the lights are on
Step 14 : Plug the power to the belkin
Step 15 : Check the color of the light in the belkin
Step 16 :If green then Check if you have internet
If not working then call belkin
=================== WIRELESS SETTING UP A WIRELESS CONNECTION ====================
Step 1 : Connect Router - Computer ( Wired)
Step 2 : Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer
Step 3 : On the left under wireless click wi - fi protected setup
Step 4 : Leave the password blank and click on submit
Step 5 : Disable it and Click on apply changes
Step 6 : On the left under wireless click Security
Step 7 : Enable 64 Bit WEP
Step 8 : Type a 10 digit number on the key 1 ( 2 in each box )
Step 9 : Click apply changes
Step 10 : on the left under wireless click channel and SSID
Step 11 :Change the Wireless channel to 6
Step 12 : Change the SSID to a different name ( no Spaces )
Step 13 : Click apply changes
Step 14 : Now Scan and connect to this network ( Wireless )

unable to connect wirelessly to laptop and PS3


ISP DSL ask your provider is your connection is PPOE or Dynamic and after do this.

i have a new modem from comcast and now my router will not connect to the internet. i have reset the router and even connected directly to the router to see if i can get internet and still can not get through. what should i check next?

Note: If your connection is DSL choose the connection type as PPOE

Step 13 : Wait till all the lights are on
Step 14 : Plug the power to the belkin
Step 15 : Check the color of the light in the belkin
