about ask the hard ware

If you are asking how to make the internal sound card (built into the main board) work, you need to make sure the correct driver software is installed. You can download the sound drivers from HP here:

Downloading and installing the latest drivers from the manufacturer is a good place to start when you have sound problems. Also be sure that the sound devices are properly enabled in the Windows sound setting screens.

If your question refers to how to install some external sound device, normally it is a simple matter of connecting the device and installing any software supplied by the manufacturer. You should refer to any instructions that were supplied with the device.

I tried installing "Yamaha driver - Yamaha Sound Card Drivers -" - its a search result for intel 440BX board.... help me to find the right driver to solve this error...... ================================================== ===== Operating System System Model Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 1 (build 3790) VMware, Inc. see heres the thing when using VM-Ware, VM-Ware doesnt use drivers for your physical hardware, because it emulates the hardware that is seen in the hardware information of your system preferences.

So installing even drivers for the "emulated" hardware will not work, as VM-Ware uses its own drivers for the hardware, which are included with the VM-Ware Tools, if that doesnt seem to work, you may want to contact VM-Ware support, as they may have a better solutiuon.
