Tip & How-To about Facebook Social Network

Facebook Problems

There are many requests concerning Facebook lately. Most of these seem to be caused by accounts being hacked or hijacked.

I strongly recommend everyone with a Facebook account should at least read Facebook's Security Page, or preferably Become a Fan of it, which will keep you up-to-date with security issues as they arise.
http://www.facebook.com/security

There is also a Facebook Security Help page at
http://www.facebook.com/help/?topic=security
which works on a question and answer format, looking at the most common security breaches occurring on Facebook.

Please read these and know in advance what might happen, rather than being caught out and trying to fix it later.

Make sure you have a good password for your Facebook page (and for everything else that requires a password). Don't use your name, your dog's name, a common word. These are all open to dictionary hacks, where common words are tried for passwords. Combine letters and numbers, like v1de0 instead of video (but don't use such a short word!). Don't give your password to friends, or hints about what it might be.

Practice safe keyboarding!

Hey Lui,
Yoo can add up some great tricks in order to secure your Facebook account. Some of the tricks are-
1. Don't add unknown people to your account.
2. Stay connected with the genuine profile only.
3. A strong password will also add some sense.
4. Enable security for your Facebook account.

Though, the Facebook community is also providing help through help questions asked by users. You can connect with community using https://www.facebook.com/help/

If you are unable to login to your account then chances of hacking is a surety. Connecting with Facebook customer helpdesk https://gonetech.net/how-to-recover-hacked-facebook-account/ is a good way to save your hacked account.

facebook page might have been hacked, server not found when trying to connect

facebook has a lot of viruses and things that mess up your account. try using a different computer or device. if you can do that I would just delete the facebook account and make a new one that hasn't been hacked.

My Facebook account was hijacked last week, i started to notice unfamiliar conversations between myself and my friends, even at odd hours of the day. I managed to get full control of it when i changed my passwords several times just to try and throw off the hijackers. I can access my account from any other PC or device, but not me main PC at work. this is the error the technicians got when they tried to assist me: "Sorry. You are banned from this website." How do i resolve this?

HI, Usually one way of banning you from a certain sites is when other members are requesting it or reporting your account to be a spammer or the like. Also, every computer has their specific computer name, ip address, and MAC address , which are the information needed to ban or block you. You have to send a request to reset your computer, that could probably release the information to lift the ban or being blocked.
Thank you for using FIxya, Your recommendation is highly appreciated for the free support.

How do I disenroll from facebook. No reason; I just want to disenroll.

From the main screen once you're logged in, click on the "Account" drop down menu located on the top right.

Choose Account Settings.

Then, at the bottom of the page, there is an option to "Deactivate Account". To choose this option, click on the blue word "deactivate" on the right side.

The system will request that you provide a reason for leaving from the following:

  • I spend too much time using Facebook.
  • I don't feel safe on Facebook.
  • This is temporary. I'll be back.
  • I don't understand how to use Facebook.
  • I have another Facebook account.
  • I get too many emails, invitations, and requests from Facebook.
  • I don't find Facebook useful.
  • I have a privacy concern.
  • My account was hacked.
