Unable to recognize the Optical drive (CD/DVD) of Laptop/Deskop.

First thing first is to focus. Sometimes we need to get the driver disc or download the driver/s from the internet. Don't be panic for this kind of issue in which there would be an easy and efficient way to fix the problem.

All you need to do is to enter "regedit"after clicking Start >> RUN. Under REGISTRY EDITOR screen clickon "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control> Class >{4D36E965-E325-CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

Please highlight"{4D36E965-E325-CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" and then on the right pane ofthe window/Registry Editor, you can see either Lowerfilters andUpperfilters. From then all you need to do is to highlight and thenmake a "RIGHT CLICK" from the mouse and select for "DELETE" option. After deleting either Lowerfilters and Upperfilters just exit out fromRegistry Editor screen and shutdown your laptop.

Then after 1 minutehave to turn it back on then retry checking if it ables to shows upyour OPTICAL DRIVE or not.

In this regard you can simply manage the time you are spending on by doing some fixes especially on this kind of issue.

My computer was wiped completely clean but now I cannot connect to the internet and I don't have any drivers anymore . What just happened?

The nice thing about dell is that it has most of the drivers you might need on its website (http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs). As you've wiped your computer clean, you've erased the drivers as well. If you know what drivers you need, you can download them onto a usb key from a computer that has internet access and then install them onto your computer. What operating system do you use? Do you have the installation discs that came with it? If you have Windows for instance, it can help you find the drivers that you're missing online here (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/driver.aspx?q=driver). Also, did you create recovery discs for your computer? If you did, these would have many of the necessary drives on as well.

how can i download lan driver from internet

Hi there!
If you don't have the disc for the driver and your only option is to download it from the internet then you'll need to use another computer to download the driver and transfer it to the computer that needs the LAN driver.
Hope this helps.

Kernal panic

To reset nvram,
Press "cmd alt O F" at startup
Then enter:
reset_nvram (press enter)
reset_all (press enter)

A kernel panic can come from a lot of things (peripherals, corrupted file, or damaged hard drive or memory). The best is to check in the log file what caused the kernel panic, or to proceed step by step, checking one thing after the other, until the problem is resolved.

Do not panic, they are such stubborn creatures. Jordan, set youself a nice quiet time and go through a process of elimination. When you turned it off, does it power on ok, is it giving errors either at the printer (flashing lights) or at the pc, (post back any errors as this helps identify issues. Try uninstalling it completely from the pc if it is attatched to pc. Sometimes this can correct driver errors or program hiccups. Post back if no good and we'll explore more avenues. BE AWARE DO NOT UNINTSALL IT UNTIL YOU EITHER HAVE THE CD DRIVER DISC OR HAVE DOWNLOADED A COPY FROM MANUFACTURER.
