Tip & How-To about Cell Phones
When you use your iPhone, as timegoes on, you will notice that it develops a few operational errors like application or startup errors, sometimes the iPhone may freeze.
This happens as a result of the system files geting corrupted.
To solve this problem you can perform a system reset of your iPhone.
There are two methods of resetting your iPhone, there is a soft reset and a hard (factory) reset.
The soft reset will not erase all your data but it will erase your resent data, so it is important to back up your files before performing the soft reset.
After you have performed the backup, follow these procedures to perform an iPhone soft rese:
1. Bring up iTunes.
2. Connect your iPhone to the computer, ( let it come up in its loop ).
3. Press and hold the power button and the home key simultaneously.
4. Keep these pressed until the screen goes off, then release the power button but keep pressing the home key.
If it does not work the first time, repeat it. iTunes will eventually detect that there is a device in reset mode and ask if you want to reset, hit yes and hopefully you will be able to get out.
If this does not solve your problem, you will have to perform a factory (hard) reset, which we can look at in my next tip.
Thank you for using Fixya,
