That way, you can use the fridge to keep foodstuffs frozen while you deal with the freezer.
Are you thinking of defrosting method for your freezer or fridge? Then check this out.
Always switch off and unplug the freezer before cleaning or defrosting.
Load the contents of your freezer into large dustbin bags and cover the bags with a duvet or blanket. The food should stay frozen for several hours. But use a cool box for ice cream or soup which melts quickly.
After defrosting, wash fridges and freezers with a solution of two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda to 1 liter (2 pints) of warm water-it removes lingering smells.
Rub the inside of your freezer with glycerine, available from chemists, after it has defrosted. When you next have to defrost it, the ice will come away from the sides more easily.
Use a wet/dry vacuum cleaner to **** up any water left on the floor.
If you do not like defrosting, you can always pay more for a frost-free freezer which never needs it. www.victorwod1234.blogspot.com

whirlpool refrigerator #ER2CHMXPL02 I think I have two separate problems. 1st one is a water leak that fills the bottom bins daily! The freezer does not seem to be defrosting, everything in there looks good. Also the auto ice maker is not plugged in. 2nd is everything in the refrigerator is frozen! The temperature is set at manufactures specifications and has not changed since purchased...not sure if related concerns or two different ones! HELP!

Could be that the freezer is too full with foodstuff and there is no air circulation, therefor, some places in the freezer build ice. The defroster is working and melting the ice that drips to the bottom bins.
I suggest you remove everything from the freezer. unplug the frigde. Let all ice build ups melt. Remove ice from the foodstuff and put back in. Make sure that vents in the freezer and fridge are not blocked.

Samsung "Cool-n-cool" fridge freezer defrosting food

Is it "defrosting" the food or unable to keep it frozen? Probably unable to keep frozen. Many possible problems. 1. Defrost element bad and evaporator coil is iced over, or 2. Failed evaporator fan inside freezer, or 3. Low freon causing iced up evaporator coil....Do you see any ice build up on the back wall of freezer? Do you hear the freezer fan running or not? Take a look and get back to me.

Our Whirlpool top freezer unit is leaking water into the refrigerator. The model number is ET21NKXGW01 and at the top of the inside of the fridge, water is draining out into the fridge. The defrosting drip pan at the bottom of the fridge is empty. It seems like there might be a clog. Is that possible and if so, how do I remove it?

We were able to fix the freezer water leak. We unscrewed the false freezer floor and the inside back panel. Ice had accumulated on the freezer floor and the defrosting drain was frozen. We removed the ice by using a blow dryer then poured boiling hot water onto the frozen drain hole. The frozen water in the drain pipe hole eventually melted and the water released into the defrosting drip pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. Problem solved. We no longer have water leaking into the refrigerator.
