Tip & How-To about Plumbing

Weak flushing, always leaking water saver toilets

I have a new product that I would like you to help me market. My patent is an over-flow tube for “water-saver” toilets. After being tormented by toilets that leaked and needed at least 2 flushes, I finally came up with an easy fix without taking off the water tank. It’s called NuFlush. I now have it on my website (NuFlush.com) and also on eBay. My house is only 5 years old and all of my over-flow tubes in the water-saver toilets were only 5.25 inches long. I did not have enough water height in my tank to seat the flapper valve, properly, and our water bills were really high. Please look at my web site and see if you think I am on to something. I think that only someone like your self could market this extension tube. I have built 50 thousand of them, locally, and have started selling them in ACE Hardware stores for $6.00. There are 13 sizes of extension-tubes that range from 1.010 inches to 1.3 inches. I would like to make a deal with you.
Thank you. Ron Drake

Our single piece Kohler toilet does not flush clean. It appears to not be using enough water quick enough to give a clean flush. The tank level is just above the white line on the over flow pipe level so there is enough water in the tank. If water is added to the flush from a separate container the flush will be clean. What could be done to improve the flush?fblechen

The flapper on these toilets is a water saver. The water saver flappers can be replaced with a standard flapper and I have found this will help considerably. The flapper is located in the tank at the center bottom. It is the part that flaps up and down when you pull the lever.

toilet doen't stop flushing

Sounds like the flapper is stuck in the open position.
They sometimes get hung on the flush tube or the chain hanging from the handle.

Is the water level overflowing the tube?
If so, try adjusting the level down, you may need a new fill valve if that doesnt work.
