Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to connect power switch, led, reset switch to MSI MS 7548 (aspen) Motherboard Plus Diagram

MSI doesn't have information on the 7548, since it was made directly for HP. Here is a diagram of another MSI similiar and usually they have their pins on their jumpers pretty much the same. You would use JFP1, And Pin's 1&3 would be the hard drive, 2 & 4 would be the LED, 6 & 8 would be the power switch, and 5&7 would be the reset switch. I know your motherboard is setup slightly differnent, but your JFP1 should be in the right hand corner all by itself.

I'm attaching a diagram of the layout of a similiar board

Good Luck Everyone!!

ms-7548 mobo no post beep and screen goes black after startup

this sounds like you have picked up a virus there are a few that will do this, you will need to reformat the hard drive. or use a backup disc if you have one made to install on computer. make sure you only go into computer in safe mode and use virus software to try and remove it. this virus attacks the startup file on the hard drive, and the reg files allocation. hope this helps failing this the hard drive has wiped its self when it has not shut down properly.

need diagram motherboard

The manufacturer's website should have the manuals for this motherboard which usually contain a diagram of the board. If you need a diagram of all the circuits on the board you may need to email MSI directly for it. Detailed diagrams are usually for repair services only and are not readily available to the consumer. Good luck.

Cooler Master 1000w Silent Pro M not compatible with MSI MS-7548 (Aspen) motherboard?

So you're using the same CPU 4+4 Pin x2 power cable on both rigs?
(One of them)

Yes, I see it's a modular cable design, and the CPU 4+4 Pin x2 power cable, can be used as a single 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#eps4plus4

ALL Yellow wires are 12 Volt (DC) wires.
ALL Black wires are Ground wires.

ALL 12 Volt wires go to ONE single 12 Volt power rail, in the Power Supply, BUT; there is nothing saying an individual Yellow wire may be bad.
This is why I wondered if you are using the SAME power cable CONNECTOR. Same power cable.

Yes?
Then suggest it has something to do with the Active PFC circuit.

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Anatomy-of-Switching-Power-Supplies/327/6

Not aware of any setting to change in BIOS Setup utility - Power.

BUT, I do not know everything! lol!

IMHO there is no reason it will not work, unless as said; something to do with the Active PFC circuit.

From here let's hope someone who really knows what is going on, will post.

Regards,
joecoolvette
