Windows Media Player 11 won't open - Solution!


Follow the instructions below:

1. Click Start, click Accessories, the right click on Command Prompt and choose "run as administrator", then type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then hit enter.

2. Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll then hit enter.

3. Now type exit and hit enter. Now try media player and it should work

I'm trying to install the Cisco VPN client to a Windows 7 (32bit) computer but keep getting a Windows Installer 1721 error. Any advice is much appreciated.


Dear User ,
Follow the Steps below to resolve your problem
1. Click on start and the search bar right next to it , type Cmd 2.As the CMD appears in the search list . Right click on that and Click on Run As Administrator
  1. At the command prompt, type msiexec /unregister , and then press ENTER.
  2. At the command prompt, type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.
  3. At the command prompt, type exit, and then press ENTER to close the command prompt
Try to install it again ,Just in case it fails ,follow the steps below 1.Right click on the VPN setup file and click on Run as admin

windows module installer has stopped working ....after i installed vista sp2


Hi,

1. Please uninstall if any third party security software installed on the computer.
2. One of the third party services might be causing the issue. To check if any of the Non Microsoft service is causing the issue put the computer in clean boot
Follow the steps given in the link below to perform clean boot:

3. Click Start>All Programs>Accessories, right click on the Command Prompt option on the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as Administrator option.
To start the System File Checker follow the below steps:
a. In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow,
b. Press Enter.
c. You’ll see “the system scan will begin”.
The scan may take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt or missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista DVD if it’s needed.
4. If the above steps doesn't fix the issue, try the steps given below:
a. Click in start and in Start search box type CMD.
b. In the list right click on CMD and click Run as Administrator.
c. At the command prompt, type net stop cryptsvc.
d. Rename C:\Windows \System32\Catroot2 folder to Catroot2.old.
e. Open C:\Windows folder, and then rename the SoftwareDistribution folder as SoftwareDistribution.old.
f. At the command prompt, type net start cryptsvc.
g. Install the updates from standalone version that is saved on your desktop.

h. Restart the computer in normal mode and Check for the updates

Two days ago I turned my computer on and where my sidebar gadgets should be there were black squares and rectangles. My clock was square with a black face and not working. I tried installing different gadgets with the same results. I bought this computer on 7/31/08

I have the solution to resolve the issue.
Perform the steps as provided below:

1. Close windows Sidebar. Right click on the Windows Sidebar notification area icon and click Exit.
2. Open the Start menu and click All Programs, then click Accessories. Right click on Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
3. In the command prompt, type "regsvr32 msxml3.dll" without quotes and press Enter. Then click Ok.
4. In the command prompt, type "regsvr32 scrrun.dll" without quotes and press Enter. Then click Ok.
5. In the command prompt, type "regsvr32 jscript.dll" without quotes and press Enter. Then click Ok.
6. Turn Windows Sidebar back on.Check to see if Windows Sidebar is displaying correctly now.

How to Find the Ethernet Adapter's MAC Address


Follow these instructions to find your adapter's Media Access Control address (MAC address). This is not the same as a Macintosh computer, it is a fixed string built in to the hardware, that uniquely identifies a computer device. Windows 2003 1. Click Start > Run. A command prompt window appears. 2. Type cmd. 3. Type ipconfig/all. (no spaces around the /) 4. Copy down the "Physical Address" (aka the MAC address) on a paper where you keep your network configuration settings. 5. You may close the command prompt window. Windows XP 1. Click Start > Run. A command prompt window appears. 2. Type cmd. 3. Type ipconfig/all. 4. Copy down the "Physical Address" (aka the MAC address) on a paper where you keep your network configuration settings. 5.
