Tip & How-To about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

Cyberhome CH-DVD300 DVD Player

Symptom: Unit will not power up at all. Power indicator doesn't work.
or after inserting disk, screen says "loading disk" but then
says "bad disk".
Solution: This problem is usually caused by a bad 5Volt power supply.
Check the 5V output of the power supply board. The output
plug is clearly marked. If this 5V is less than 4V, the unit will
not operate. This is caused by defective filter capacitors in the
5V supply. These caps are easily identified. Replace these
two with the same values and the 5V should return to normal.
Note: Because of the confined spaces on the board, only use caps
that are of the same physical size. Capacitors are made in a
varity of hights and diameters with the same electrical
specifications. Do not try to pigtail a larger cap in circuit. The
circuit will not work correctly. I can supply these if you can not
find them locally.

I have been playing DVDs without problem for several years on my RCA 20F510TD 20 in. TV/DVD Combo. Now when in the DVD mode, with a disk inserted, the screen comes up with no disk found. What can I do

NOT much you can do---It is a bad optical unit inside the DVD unit---they do not see parts----only the complete DVD portion----much cheaper to go out and buy a DVD player and connect it to the audio and video jacks this unit should have.

the green light is blinking on the supply unit but it not coming on or booting up , i need to know if the supply unit is bad

Close examination of your power supply may reveal if the psu is bad.

When the power supply is plug in ac socket the green indicator led inside the motherboard will lit steady green. See if by turning on the cpu you will see some sparks in the power supply connector attached to the motherboard. This is a clear indication of a bad or shorted psu.

You can also smell if there is a burning inside the psu.

See if the fan inside the psu is working if not then its a clear indication of a bad psu.

Using a multimeter if you have one measure the dc voltage coming from the supply connector. Insert the black probe to one of the black wires in the connector. And the red probe to the red wire in the connector. the reading should be +12VDC. Put the red probe to the red wire and it should read +5VDC. Any readings below this, means bad psu.

Measure also the output voltage when there is a load in the power supply. Connect a CD-ROM drive or hardisk and measure again the voltage. Dropping of voltage when put some loads is a clear indication of a bad power supply unit (psu).

I hope this will help you.

flash not working error sign E 91;01 on the lcd screen model dscw110

Hi,

The E:91:01 is the self diagnostic code display of the Camera which indicates the symptom of the issue. This can easily be identified with the help of a authorized service technician.
The E:91:01 code indicates the abnormality of the Camera when the Flash is being charged. Normally this can be resolved by some normal troubleshooting steps and if not changing the Flash unit.
Try recharging the battery in the Camera to Full and then power resetting the Camera. To power reset the Camera, remove the batteries from the Camera, press and hold the power button of the Camera for 30 seconds and then re-insert the battery pack after 1 minute. If the issue persists, try INITIALIZING the Camera. To Initialize, press HOME, select SETTINGS--> MAIN SETTINGS 1-->INITIALIZE-->OK
If the issue persists after resetting and initializing, service may be required to resolve the issue with the Flash unit

Not reading the disc.

There are two common poblems that occur with the 300 DVD player. Either the machine will not power up at all and the power indicator won't work or after a disk has been inserted the on screen display will say "loading disk" but then say "bad disk".
First remove the top cover secured wih screws, you will now be able to identify the power supply board. At the output connector measure the 5 volt output with a voltmeter. If less than 4V, than the unit will not work properly. The filter capacitors are bad. Replace C10, 2200uf@ 10V and C11, 1000uf@10V. Because of the limited space provided, use capacitors of the same physical size. Do not try to pigtail a larger cap in its place. The circuit will not operate properly. I can supply these if you can't find them locally.
