Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
Having repaired Many X-Box 360s.
The following points have been noted, And greatly reduced further rrod occurances.
Removal of the X-Clamps, and replacing with High Quality Thermal Grease Or Compound certainly helps.
The renewal Of Better Quality Heat-Pads, On The 4 x underside memory Chips, is also another Big Factor.
Also where the GPU heatsink sits, over the top of 2 x memory chips.
use thermal pads of 2mm thick, which greatly helps, Protects heat from the chips, when the GPU gets warm.
My Final And probably biggest Tip, Is to use a very fine sandpaper on The Underside Of The CPU And GPU heatsinks, before replacement. These Are Factory manufactured, And not as highly precise, or polished as they Should Be. I use a sanding Block, Some Fine 600-800 grit wet And Dry, to polish the fine lines out Of These, And polish to a mirror Finish With T-Cut. Or Car Rubbing Compound.
Completing all the Above, makes The 360 More Efficient Than It,s Original Production. Also the Addition Of A Talismoon Fan, moves More Warm Air Faster.
