I need to find the plastic adapter which you can attach to the feed reel which changes the film from reg 8 to super 8

Super 8 and Regular 8mm are the same film, the difference being the way they were supplied to the consumer - 8mm was supplied loose on a reel, Super 8 was supplied in a pre-loaded cassette. Both can still be purchased new from B&H Photo and other dealers.

Loading negative film in holder.

The button under the top door is for ejecting the film strip. To load negatives you just insert them until the machine recognizes them and then it will automatically load them.

how do i scan film on my scanner

You should be able to download the manual.

To scan film, you'll need to first remove the white cover on the underside of the scanner lid. That is where the backlight is. Also, you must be using the ScanGear driver and NOT the WIA driver. The WIA driver does not support film scanning. Locate your film guides. These are the templates that will hold the film and are placed on the scanner glass to be scanned. Lastly, there should be a Select Source option in the scanner driver that allows you to select Film as the source.

Hope this helps.

cannot scan film and slides

Check the cable that connects to the lid of the scanner. If it is disconnected, you won't get the Film options.
