It is important to remember that laptops draw in air from the bottom of the unit. So if you place the laptop on your bed or a nice fluffy pillow on your lap to keep your legs from getting hot, then it can't draw in air and it will over heat. The second thing to remember is that, while they are good laptops, Acers are generally not the best for gaming and the internal graphics card may be getting over worked.

powers up but does not stay on

Hi,
This usually happens when your laptops gets overheated. Avoid using laptop keping on beds, pillows of laps. Always keep it on a flat surface facilitating amble air flo. Also dont use the laptop always plugged to the power adapter. It again overheats the base. Change and discharge the batteries, this increased the battery life too.

I was watching a movie on my laptop yesterday when the movie froze. So I turned off the computer, now everytime I turn it on, the screen stays black and nothing will come up. I can't get anything to start up. Can you help?

Hi,

If your screnn is not showing up anything, even the BIOS screen while booting up. Then it could have damaged the Graphics card. You'll have to mostly replace *********** board. Your vendor can provide you a replacement price instead of buying a brand new one.

To avoid these scenerios of graphics card buring out, i would suggest to use the laptop keeping on a flat surface, especially not on pillows, bed and lap. Also dont use the laptop always connected to the power adapted. Connect only when the battery goes down. This will increase the battery life too.

my laptop keeps shutting down, i figured i had a virus so i started to reformat it. now the computer keeps shutting down while it is reformating, what could be the cause of this?

Hi,

This is because of overheating. Try to use the keeping the laptop in a flat surface, facilitating the ventilation space. Else on long run, it could damage the motherboard, especially the graphics card.

Apart from that you can also buy a cooling base, which could avoid these kind of issues.

Please come abck and rate for my solution if it turns to be helpful for you.
Thnx

my acer 5735z keeps turning its self off and then sometimes wont load up properlyl! help

Using a laptop on your lap is probably the worst place to use it.
Most laptops have air intakes underneath or the side. Put it on your lap and these air vents can get blocked or restricted by you clothes. A solid surface is much better. Placing the laptop on a bed or pillow has pretty much the same result for exactly the same reason. If you plan to use this on your lap, find a cheap laptop cooler to set it on and I bet the problem goes away.
