Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies
One of the most common reasons for complaints about ink-jet output quality, is that the driver is set for the wrong type of paper. Different papers require different amounts of ink and different proportions of ink colors to produce the correct final colors. Setting the paper type tells the driver which color tables to use. Some ink-jets are supposed to recognize the paper type automatically, but the feature doesn't always work. So if you're not getting the results you expect, don't give up on the printer until you've made sure you're setting the driver manually for the paper you're actually using.
