Tip & How-To about Cameras

Keeping Photo's and Movies safe.

With digital cameras and PC's more or less everyone now has the ability to take and store Photo's and Movies.

Also with the march of technology, people now have huge drives either in or external to their PC's and tend keep treasured Photo's on said drives.

My tip is this:- These drives are mechanical, however reliable they may one day fail. You need to store precious data such as Photo's on a more secure system.

Write them to CD (Usually 700Mb capacity) or more preferably DVD (4.7 Gb Capacity).

There are other inert systems like SDHC cards which hold a great deal of data, but currently these are more expensive and, due to physical size, easier to loose.

What is Apple FairPlay?

FairPlay is a digital right management (DRM) technology introduced by Apple Inc., based on technology created by the company Veridisc. FairPlay is built into the QuickTime multimedia software and used by the iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, iTunes, and iTunes Store and the App Store. Users will encounter Fairplay DRM technology when they buy iTunes movies/TV shows, Apps or even eBooks from iTunes store. Also, Apple Music is FairPlay DRM protected.
Restrictions of Apple DRM FairPlay
FairPlay DRM protection in iTunes purchased videos and Apple Music nearly makes people mad. With FairPlay DRM, you:
• Can't play iTunes movies, TV shows and Apple Music on non-apple device like Android phones and tablets, Windows phone, game consoles and so on.
• Can't play iTunes movies on other video players like Windows Media Player, VLC Media Player, etc.
• Can't stream iTunes movies, TV show, music, etc. to PS4, PS3, Chromecast, Roku, etc.
• Can't read the DRM-protected iBooks on common e-readers, like Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Nook, etc.
Therefore, many people are seeking for a FairPlay DRM Removal to bypass DRM from iTunes movies, Apple Music and iBooks.

How do I connect my digital camera to the TV so I can playback.

gidley,
Hey that is a classic video camera, very cool, one of the first to have PC connectivity, one of the first to use a firewire connection (fast) to a PC, all that in mind the little docking station that came with it should have video (RCA) type plugs on it that would match up to most TV's and VCR's (if you still have one) DVD players, you can play back your movies. It has the ability to store analog to digital onto your computer - if you have a DVD burner on your PC you can make DVD's out of those old movies with your kids, that would be the way to go. I'll dig around to see if one of my sources still has his manual for this camera. I'll check back with you within the next day.

i can not connect my DXG-305V digital camera to my computer

You will need to upload your images into a photo program (like iPhoto) to store and manipulate them. Once the camera is plugged in and detected, iPhoto automatically imports them into the program. It will store both still and video images and has some pretty good built in editing features. Hope this helps!
