Some reasons why your PC could be slow,
  • Virus invasion which interfere with the smoothing running of programs,corrupt files drag the Operating System or even crash it.Run a full scan of the PC with an updated anti-virus.
  • Processor speed.Some features of the PC may limit its speed.
  • If its slow in browsing,change the browser.

You need more memory. If you have windows xp you need at least 512 memory.

You're running too much at the same time. I would not recommend touching the settings unless you are positive that you know what you are doing. However, if you are confident that you know what you are doing, and you want to take matters into your own hands: Start Menu Control Panel System Advanced Tab Under Performance, click settings, go to the Advanced tab, and set more virtual memory

i want to upgrade my laptop. it speed is very poor and take much time to do searching

best bet would be to add more memory then... what make and model is your laptop ?

Also you might want to download a free program called spybot s&d
great for removing spyware which may be slowing your computer down.

my computer is slow.

first sec your operating system drive and sec drive properties if your drive is full then you remove unnesasery program and free your oprating system drive in 50% or you can clean your windows temt folder or you can formate youe oprating drive and instoll again or you can add additional ram in your pc.
