Where can we get a thermo coupler for a floor furnace Ward Model 570EDR.

Most floor furnaces use the millivolt gas valve and need a pilot generator to operate correctly. These generators are bit more than a standard thermocouple.

Ebay has one for less than $20

Pilot light does not stay on.

Be sure to keep the button pushed for 45 seconds AFTER lighting the pilot. If the pilot continues to go out, the problem is most likely the thermocouple. A replacement thermocouple can be purchased at the local hardware store for under $20.00.

Williams Wall Heater thermocouple replacment I was told by service person that the thermocouple needed to be replaced on my 1992 50,000 BTU wall heater. He quoted $300 for the job. Doesn't this estimate somewhat high?

A standard thermocouple will cost you approx $10.00 to $20.00 at a hardware store. I'm including a link to a site with a video to help you identify and replace the thermocouple. The video demonstration is on a gas-fired water heater; however, the principle operation and replacement of the thermocouple is the same for a standard gas-fired furnace. Let us know if this was helpful to you and good luck in your endeavor! :-)
