make screen bigger

To zoom in on a website in your favorite browser, making the website appear bigger, follow these steps:

Using the keyboard and a mouse with a scroll wheel:
  • Hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and roll the mouse wheel up to zoom in, or down to zoom out.
Using only the keyboard:
  • Hold down the "Ctrl" key and press the "+" key to zoom in, or the "-" key to zoom out.
To make the browser full-screen, taking up the whole screen on your computer, press the "F11" key. Press the "F11" key again to exit full-screen mode.

I hope that helps you!

google search

Try zooming your the Safari window (click the green button at the top left of the window's frame) or try putting Safari into full-screen mode (click arrow thingy at top right of window frame) to see if the text box reappears. You can switch in and out of full-screen mode by typing control-command-F.

If this doesn't do the trick, navigate to a SPECIFIC page in Google search (start at www.google.com), then open Safari Preferences, click the General tab, and click the "Set to current page" button.

can zoom in or out when in full page mode anymore, just started yesterday aug 10/11

there is a pretty obvious bug when using 'Marquee Zoom' (Alt+5) in the full screen mode (F11). When you press 'Ctrl' to toggle 'Zoom In' and 'Zoom Out' (changing the little magnifying glass cursor from + to - and back again), it sticks with 'Zoom Out' and refuses to toggle back to 'Zoom In'. And then the only way to recover 'Zoom In' is to exit full screen mode, whereupon 'Ctrl' regains its toggling power and everything is back to normal
