Tip & How-To about Cell Phones

Forgot Lock Code On LG's

This is Jon from the Cell Phone Guy in Sioux Falls SD. We buy sell trade and repair used phones. A General problem i would note to help people out is a user lock on LG phones. A user lock is a passcode that keeps anyone out of the phone that doesnt know it. Its a common problem we see since we buy peoples old phones. Simple fix most of the time though is going into the hidden programing menu of the phone. Simply power the phone on and when its saying its locked just enter "##program(the model number)" so say for the LG Venus you would enter ##program8800 and hit send. This takes you to a programing menu of the phone. You will go into the service program option and enter through it try not to ever change the information in the area for its the settings of the phone that allows it to be activated. But you will enter through till you see a phone number. A user locks default password is usually the last four digits of the previous number wich youll see here. keep entering through the screens and the phone will automatically reset and bring you back to the home screen and now enter the last four digits of that phone number you just looked up and hopefully unless it had been changed by the previouse user this will unlock the phone and let you reset the device.

puc code

PUC l happen only on GSM or Sim Card phones the way to fix this is to simply call your providers customer service and they will send you a new code. It usually doesnt cost anything and only takes a few mins. Just call from a third line and tell them the situation. This generally only happens when someone is going into the settings of the phone and locks it up. any other ?'s send me an email gus6607@hotmail.com

please let me know the code to unlock LG VX8500.

This is Jon from THE CELL PHONE GUY in Sioux Falls SD we buy sell and trade used phones. I also spend most my days as a repair man on cell phones and have seen this before, LG's are actually fairly easy to figure the user lock out if you have forgotten it. First off if you dont know it and have never changed it it will always be the last four digits of the phone number of the phone. If you do not know that information all you have to do is power the phone on and enter: ##program'model number' and hit send. So in this case it would be ; ##program8500 send and it will now ask for a six digit password, its all zeros. after you have entered this information you should be at a menu that gives you several options you will want the top option service program and just hit ok through the first few things till you see a phone number. This information is settings from the provider about the connections and phone settings dont mess with this just hit ok. The phone number is the previouse number on the phone and you will only need the last four digits that is you pass code most of the time.

people can not hear me on my phone but I can hear them and dial out and receive calls.

This is Jon from the Cell Phone Guy in Sioux Falls SD. I do repairs on cell phones all day everyday and see alot or similar problems. It sounds like there is a problem with your microphone. Have you ever had water damage? if so there is a 50/50 shot a may work again. We use an altrasonic cleaner whenever there is a water damaged phone for repair and its not always a guarantee but it seems to do the trick most of the time. If there has been no water damage to your phone to your knowledge it may be that there is just a loose connections? or that the microphone has gone out that is a bigger issue. on most phones the microphone is soldered onto the mother board of the phone making it very difficult to replace or repair. if you would like to discuss it more you can send me an email at gus6607@hotmail.com to diagnose the problem further
