How to solve error code 8002F14E on a ps3 or playstation 3

This error code relates to an update error either the update didnt complete or it was a bad update.

If you have any warranty left on your ps3 then please dont mess about with it just take it back to where you brought it from and get it exchanged for a new one.

Below is a couple of ideas that people have used to solve this problem now the first solution i can advise you to do as it dont require you to remove any parts and does usually solve the problem, i have solved the problem that way a couple of times on peoples ps3 and it works say 8 out of 10 of the times so you can give that a try just goto the ps3 official website for your country and then you can download the updates and try a full update.

Now the second way does sometimes work but less often and messing with your hard drive means your going to lose anything saved on it and you may get errors after so i cant advise you on doing this at all as its not recomended to work but may work its all up to you at the end of the day.
try the new update first then get back to me with what happens before trying the second way ok,

Go to the UK PS3 official site and access the download PS3 updates page. Download the latest PS3 updates from this site onto a USB Memory Stick, saved in a Folder PS3\UPDATES (must be in capitals). Plug the memory stick into any of the USB ports on the PS3 and try to run the update again. I had to swith it off, and back on again numerous times still getting the same error but then for no reason it decided to complete the update and now everything is ok.

This is the second way but dont try this untill you have tried the first way several times the update may not take so you need to keep trying until it does take only do the next option as a last resort but it will format the hard drive meaning you lose everything saved on it and this isnt an advisable coarse of action.

-Open the side of your PS3 where your HDD is. Take the screw out, but leave the HDD in.
-Whenthe update begins, slide your HDD out of the slot. It will tell you an error occured and it tells you to restart your system and try again. Instead, let the count from 60 run out, your screen will go blank for aabout 30 seconds then it will start back up and tell you that your Hard Drive needs to be reformatted. Now, slide your HDD into place again, and continue with the format. You will lose all your saved data, but your console will work again.

If after trying them you still have no joy then you should contact sony and they should fix this for you for free as this isnt a fault you have caused yourself its a fault with with either their update or the ps3 hard drive so contact them and tell them your problem.

If you have any warranty left on your ps3 then take it back to where you brought it from and they will exchange it for a new one for you.

For the ps3 I try to play a game but when I put in any disc it says error code 80010514 every time or sometimes it just freezes I tried some things but disentangle work pleas help me ..!!!

It's related to a hard drive issue. Maybe a game installation or a firmware update was not correctly completed. What I suggest you to do is to try re-installing the ps3 firmware updates.

every time its gets to 62% is says an error with (8002F997) ive tired the method by swiching the media sever to disable but that didnt work. what eles do i do

Error code "8002F997" means your PS3 is having issues updating your system software directly via internet. As a workaround you'll use external storage media, such as a USB thumb drive, to transfer the software to your PS3

1. Requirements

- A USB cable (not necessary if using a USB thumb drive)
- A PC with Internet access
- Storage media or a USB Mass Storage device such as a USB flash drive

2. Downloading and saving the software

- Plug in your USB drive to your computer, and create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data. Create a folder named "PS3" on the storage media/USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named "UPDATE".

- Download the update data from

http://dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/image/us/2011_0310_91ee193a2fa921a6fce780fc40236e3b/PS3UPDAT.PUP

and save it in the "UPDATE" folder.

Note:

Be sure to save the update data as noted below. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3 will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.

-> Location: Save in the "PS3" folder > "UPDATE" folder
-> File name: Save as file name "PS3UPDAT.PUP".

3. Updating the PS3 software

Note:

Do not turn off the PS3, or remove the USB drive, during the software update!

- Insert the USB drive/storage media into the PS3
- On your PS3, from Home Menu (second icon from the left) -> System Update ->Select [Update via Storage Media].

The system automatically searches for and finds the update data saved on the storage media or USB device.

What Does playstation 3 error code 80710723 mean?

In fact, this is a system update error. What this means is that the error is caused when something goes awry during a system software/firmware update, or whilst you are attempting to update/download a game. We know this because it belongs to the "80x" family of error codes, which signify connection and network based errors on the PS3. Basically, something has gone wrong while you were updating your console.

A common factor behind this is a faulty Internet connection. Typically, this occurs on consoles that are connected to the update network via a wireless connection; wireless is much less reliable than an actual hard-wired connection as it can be interrupted relatively easily. Therefore, you are much better off to use a wired connection to avoid the PS3 error 80710723. Also, you may have to reset your modem/router.

Many gamers find that the problem can be resolved by firstly switching to a wired Internet connection, and secondly disabling the "media server" option in the network settings menu on their PS3 console. Sometimes, the RSS setting must be disabled too.

You can see the instructions for fixing this error in more detail by clicking the following link, where you will learn exactly what you need to do to fix the PS3 error 80710723. Don't pay someone else to do the job for you; do it yourself and save both money and time.

i've gotten the error code 8002F14E after upgrading my ps3 to the latest version. system update stops at 68% and then this error pops out.

It is because you don't have the blu-ray drive connected that is making this fail. Hook it up again then try to update. If it doesn't update that way try downloading from Sony's site to a USB drive and update that way. If the laser is bad on the drive you may just want to get Sony to repair/ replace it, even if out of warranty as that is still cheaper than buying a new system.
If you cannot get to any menu to tell ps3 where it is to download it.
Then go to System Update but just tell the PS3 to go for an external device instead of looking for it over the internet.
