A ZIP file is used to send large amounts of information more easily.
A ZIP is 'unzipped' using an unzip program.

You should have WinZip on your computer. An unzip program. If not I suggest using a free alternative. One such alternative is 7-Zip,

{ 32-bit x86 is for the regular version of Windows XP Home Edition, or Windows XP Pro Edition.
The 32-bit versions }

When you see the zip file, DOUBLE-click right on it.
The Unzip Wizard should come up. Left-click on unzip in the right column.

Now go to the far Left side, and left-click on Extract All Files.
Left-click on Next, Next, and Finish, at the bottom of the three windows.

You will be looking at a window that has the file name next to a red PDF icon.
Double-click on it.

You are now looking at a PDF file form of the motherboard manual.

how to install a downloaded font in a pc

First, the font file you downloaded may have been compressed to save space. If the extension is "zip" or "rar" then you'll need to uncompress it. Windows has support for the zip format, and all you need to do is double-click the file icon to start the process. If you aren't familiar with how to unzip files, this page can help.

Windows doesn't support rar format compression, so you'll need another program. WinRAR is one. It's free to download and try for 30 days, but you need to purchase it if you want to keep it. 7-Zip is a free program that unzips rar and zip files as well as many other formats.

Once you have extracted the font files (which usually have a ttf extension), you can just copy them into the Windows fonts folder at C:\WINDOWS\FONTS. Once in that folder the fonts are installed.

how do I unzip downloaded file on Vista and copy it to floppy disk, via usb to floppy converter? Thank you. Cathy.

Windows Vista has a built-in function for unzipping files in Explorer. Just right-click the filename and select Unzip from the menu. But I never use the built-in Windows function, because it's incredibly slow and has limited functionality.

My favorite is 7-Zip, which you can download from http://www.7-zip.org/. It will extract files of .zip, .rar, and many other archival formats, and it can split large files into small sections to be stored on several floppies.

7-zip adds a line in the context (right-click) menu of Explorer for 7-zip>, so you can unzip files right from Explorer. Splitting files requires starting 7-zip and finding the file in it's own explorer-like interface. Right-click the filename, and select Split... A little dialog box appears asking what size chunks you want to split the file into. In my test just now it defaulted to 1.44M floppy disk-sized sections. You also choose the folder you want the new files to go to. The actual splitting operation, even on this old Win 2000 computer splitting a 3.6M file, was virtually instantaneous.

The program is free for personal or business use.
