How to import/put AVCHD MTS/M2TS on my HDTV on Windows?

Hi there I was looking for a media player to plug my hard drive into to watch MKV files on my HDTV. I have been told the popcorn hour A110 is very good so I bought a Popcorn Hour last week.now I found another problem,if I want to play the AVCHD m2ts files from Nikon D90 camcorders on my HDTV ,even I need to edit it before importting to my HDTV .how to do ?

If you use a stand-alone device like a HTPC, Popcorn Hour or a Western Digital player, you'll probably have better compatibility with the mkv container .here I would like to recommend you to try this m2ts to mkv converter.

Why need to convert m2ts to mkv? As we known,m2ts and mkv are both containers; they have no bearing on the amount of compression used.I believe an m2ts taken from a Blu-ray or AVCHD disk is going to be a bit bigger than an mkv with the same contents, because the m2ts contains extra file structure information that you don't need. Additionally, when repacking an m2ts into an mkv, people usually remove any audio streams they don't want. There's no point in keeping a French dub of an American film if you can't speak French. If you want to use a stand-alone device like a HTPC, Popcorn Hour or a Western Digital player, you'll probably have better compatibility with the mkv container.

Which media streamer is the best streamer money can buy?

We suggest the A-110 is the best buy of all these streamers, although the D-Link is fantastically cheap and quite capable if you don't care about HD content that much. The Popcorn Hour A-100 was the first streamer we saw that really could do everything. This machine is simple to use, will allow you to watch pretty much any type of video file you can lay your hands on, and it won't break the bank, either. If you put a hard drive in the Popcorn Hour you can transfer files to it using FTP over your network, which means you don't have to leave a computer on all the time.

unable to read mkv and avi video files from usb drive on philips dvp5990 dvd player

what error does it give? mine reads avis fine, as long as theyre within resolution limits. same for windows media format. couldnt get the mkv files to work though. the usb drive has to be formatted fat32, ntfs does not seem to work. burning these files to dvd as a data disc is another option. lets you fit 10+ hours of video on the disc vs your standard 2 or 4 hour max limits.
