Here are a few suggestions, first check the realtek audio manager (double click the icon at the bottom) if everything looks fine there, open control panel, go to sound speech and audio devices, select sounds and audio devices, select the voice tab, then click test hardware, follow the wizard and it should reset the driver and show you a volume indicator, this is how i had to fix mine, hope this helps
