When the player is connected to the computer, it is normal for it to say connected and not do anything else. If it is displaying that message after you have disconnected the mp3 player from the computer:1) Make sure the hold switch is not engaged
2) Reset the player by holding in the power button for 15 seconds
3) If the reset fails, update the Firmware from scan disk's website
4) if the message still persists, use the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisk's website. This will help.Good Luck.
