Tip & How-To about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

Disabling Unnecessary Programs At Startup:

Many programs add portions of themselves starting automatically on every login. This can be either in the Startup Folder or the Registry. One easy way to tell is by looking at how many icons are in your system tray. If you have a large number, perhaps unnecessary resources are being allocated them as well as increasing your boot time. Typical examples are Microsoft Office, Office FindFast, Real Player, ATI Video setting etc. You can remove them in one of three main ways:

In the Start / Programs / Startup Folder
In the Registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run

she gets an error message when booting up:: Fail to load language file

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. Go to Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running.
This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but only when you initiate.

If this fails, even though this should fix it, download CCleaner (free) and clean your Windows Registry.

corrupt start-up folders

There are 2 different methods to organize your startup folder.

Infact these 2 methods leads to updating the Registry using different tools, and registry holds the information on what should work when during startup.

Regrets to mention that the information you have given leads no where for a troubleshooting or analysis of the issue, but i would like to give a clear picture of what the issue is .

Incase you have a problem with startup, services run, or any other software\application, understand that your registry has some corruption which is causing this at first phase, and this can only be confirmed after a sniffing operation throught the troubleshooting of this issue.

1) Use MSConfig at Run prompt and configure your startup items.

2) Use the rough method of getting into the registry and updating the startup Items.
for this open the Registry using Regedit command in the Start - Run Prompt and then you open the folder as shown below.

Add the required programs for startup and then save.

Restart the system and you will have these programs in startup and running.

Please write back if any further assistance required

Good Luck.

can't access YM.incorrect id or password(81003002)

First uninstall Yahoo! Messenger through add/remove programs.

If you want to do a total clean uninstall of Yahoo Messenger then also navigate to Program Files on your hard drive and delete the Messenger folder inside of the Yahoo Folder. Follow this path (XP): My Computer>>C: drive>>Program Files>>Yahoo>>Messenger. Reboot your computer (important!).

If you have a trusted registry scanner use it now. If you do not have a trusted registry scanner that you are familiar with than skip this step because you can mess things up if you do not know what you are doing. I personally use CCleaner but then I have been using it for years and know how to use the Registry scanner portion safely. Using any of these types of programs is USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Make sure you know how to create a system restore point and backup any of the Registry files it changes.

It is important that now you reboot your computer. Now download and install Yahoo messenger again

Hello you must name all the three problems first. Ok, Remember all those and Delete all the entries from that startup folder. open registry editor by typing regedit in the Run box from start menu. Then go to the section [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
Create a String value rename it to the program of your choice, open that string value and and give the address/path of that program and press OK button. do this for all the 3 program you stated one by one.
