Where can I find No Post Diagnostic information for my Dell Desktop/MiniTower system

Most Dell desktop/minitower system have the ability to have no POST failure diagnostics that can assist you in determining exactly what has failed in the system making part replacement easier.
For older Dells that have diag LEDs on the back of the system (labeled ABCD), here is the table indicating diagnostic faults:

dimension 3100 wont turns no power button light there is also an green light on motherboard cpu and power suplly fans working but wont bot up

Please my dell optiplex 755 does not power but the on-board light is on. it only has a yellow light always blinking on the power button. how do i solve this problem?


Replace the power supply.

Generally this is a dell diagnostic light feature tellign you the power supply is failing. Have the unit tested and get a replacement.

Why would the on/off button be yellow-orange instead of green when the computer is turned on?

six beeps at post and no joy with boot up


The exact meaning of the beeps for Dell depends on their... rhythm.

Six beeps might indicate a simple CMOS failure caused by a bad battery, which is easy to replace.
