Tip & How-To about Plumbing

How to neatly install facebasin drainage.

Most plumbers use something called plumbers mate but this gets black when old. A coll trick is to use clear silicone instead and wipe of the excess.you can also use it on the fins on the toilet drainage ant any other place you find necessary!

You can use the plumbers putty on granite. If you do not want to you can also use some clear silicone. If you use the silicone make sure that you wipe off the exsess before it dries.

I have a kohler cast iron enamel sink. The

ALL BASKET STRAINERS ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. PLUMBERS PUTTY WORKS FINE. I BELIEVE ITS THE ORDER OF INSTALL THAT IS CAUSING THE LEAKS. STRAINER AND RUBBER GASKET GOES IN FROM THE TOP. IF NO RUBBER GASKET IS PROVIDED, THEN PLUMBERS PUTTY WILL SUFFICE. UNDERNEATH, ANOTHER RUBBER GASKET AND/OR PAPER GASKET, THEN THREAD ON THE NUT. TIGHTEN IT SNUGLY.

water leaks from around drain in our korral whirlpool tub. Also from around the light that is in tub. Our local plumbers say they cannot find replacement parts..can it be fixed by just using plumbers putty??? Where can I find the parts? Seems company is out of business or shady or something.

Use of plumber putty should do the trick. take it apart clean it well and apply the putty. For the light, use silicon glue. You can get a tube at any hardware store. There are many different kinds, just read the label and find one for bathroom use. clean around the light and apply. If your unit is white use white silicone, if it is a color use clear.

Hope this helps.
