How to do a System restore

This is a tip on explaining how to do a system restore for Windows 7. This will explain step by step instructions on how to restore your system to a previous date. This is sometimes necessary to do because of driver incompatibilities and sector errors, which causes system inconsistencies.

Here is how we do it:

Now that you have opened the application we are going to use, we can proceed with the following steps. Check the box at the left hand bottom if you want to restore to a earlier restore point. In this step you also need to choose the restore point you would want to use, and click next to proceed. Note, you can also scan for affected programs, which means that you will be notified which software or drivers will be deleted if you choose to use that specific restore point.

When you click on the next option, you will be prompted with the following screen. Click finish to start the process.

You need to understand that the changes during the restore process, will not be able to be drawn back if this process is done in safe mode. Click YES if you want to proceed.

Now you are done, the process can take a couple of minutes. I really hope that you can find this helpful.

Please rate accordingly.

Kind regards

I would like to have/purchase a step by step instruction manual for the operation of my Dell Inspiron 560 Slim Tower computer. A manual that explains "To do (this) click on (whatever) tab on the toolbar, etc" The Dell Inspiron 560 is an awesome computer. However it did not come with a "Instructions for Dummies" type of instruction manual. Can you help me? Meridith B. Handley 4428 Maple Dam Road Cambridge, MD 21613 410-228-8579 email: Meridith.Handley@Yahoo.com

This sounds more like you're looking for a general "How to Use Windows" guide, rather than something specific to the Dell 560. If you recently purchased this computer, it should have come with Windows 7 pre-installed on it. In this case, I would recommend the "Windows 7 For Dummies" guidebook, which can be purchased either at a local bookstore of your choice (ISBN #0470497432), or through an online retailer like Amazon:

Amazon.com: Windows 7 For Dummies

Good luck, and enjoy your computer; learning the ins-and-outs of a home PC can be a fun and educational experience.

I cannot open my Yahoo messenger after I download Window Internet Explorer 8

Do you have the latest release of Yahoo messenger? I think the easiest thing to do here is just do a system restore to the a day previous to this problem, this will restore the earlier version of Internet Explorer which is stored in the system restore files on a separate section of the Hardrive.
Here is the way you do a "System Restore" on windows XP and 7. You will find two links to sites that explain the procedure in depth. 1st is XP then Windows 7.

no statup sound in system

Restore the Startup Sound in Windows 7 If you decide that you want the Windows Startup back on your computer, just follow the steps explained above, but this time, check the "Play Windows Startup Sound" checkbox and click OK. The change is saved immediately, and turns back on this sound for the next time you reboot your PC!
