The light on a fan is flickering. It doesn't appear to be the light bulbs. This fan has a remote control and it controls the fan OK and turns the light on and off but it flickers. What could be causing it?

Try changing or testing the batteries in the remote or take the remote out of the fans range. See if this stops the flickering. It can also be the individual bulb. Sometimes the monofillament wires become loosened. It won't hurt the fan to use a broken bulb but it will shorten the life of the bulb. They do get the daylights shook out of them! If all the bulbs flicker it can be the twist connects. These are located under the ceiling plate cover. To check, shut off the fan or turn off the braker switch to make sure you don't get a shock (but I really doubt it). Remove the face plate ceiling screws to expose the wiring. There should be a black and a red cap that holds wires together. Black is ground red is power. One at a time hold the wires of the black cap with one hand and give the cap a gentle clockwise twist with your other hand to see if they need tightening. Repeat with the other colored cap. Push the wires back up inside the housing if needed and replace the cover.
These are the simpelist things to try before calling an expert. I hope this helps?

Central vac is Eureka Altima CV1801M. Tripped the circuit breaker when I turned it on. Discovered bag was full. Replaced bag and now vacuum won't power on without tripping breaker. Any idea what could be wrong and how to fix?

Ok thiese are my specialty. Somemodels have a cloth filter, make sure it is clean. Also check the hose or pipes for a clogg. The best way to do this is turn the machine on, put hose in, if the motor winds up like its labouring there is a clog in ther hose. Do this with every inlet and listen for the same. If the vac. is hot it will not turn back on until it cools. Hope this helps, if not let me know. Chris

I have a Hampton Bay Midili fan which I just installed about a month ago and it was working fine. A few days ago when I flipped the switch on the light flickered on and off consistently until I turned the switch off. The remote also stopped working to control the fan and light. Since this model only can be controlled by the remote I am worried I will have to replace the remote already after only 1 month!

in many of these remote controlled lamps you cant use the new spiral light bulbs .. you can only use standard incandescent lights .. if thats not the trouble then you may indeed have a bad controller (in the fan) .. there is probably at least a 90 day warranty maybe as much as 3 years .. make sure the wire nut power connections are secure inside the fan.. if one of the the wires in the fan are not making contact then you will see a similar problem .. once in a while i have seen strong external RF signals interfere with the controller but thats rare and usually doesnt last long ..

i would : 1. check all the connections .. 2. replace the light bulb to make sure its not flakey or the wrong type .. 3. try to get the fan replaced in warranty ..

We have an Emerson hands-free soap dispenser that won't work. We've installed brand new batteries and it still won't dispense soap. The red light comes on to indicate it' s working but no soap will come out.

We have 5 Emerson hands-free soap dispensers that don't work. Tried new batteries, light comes on, but no soap comes out. How can we get our money back?

Eureka altima stopped power mid vaccuming, have changed outlits

make sure all your filters are clean, try to turn the brush roller by hand a few times if it turns real freely then the belt is broke.if it is reall hard to turn then you have something wrapped around the ends of the roller where the bearings are.your motor guard might be keeping it from running because it got too hot take the brush roller out and the belt let it cool down for 20 minutes then try it without the roller and belt.you should be able to take the ends of the roller off by just pulling out on them so you can remove what ever is in there
