2001 PT Cruiser loss of turn signals and hazard lights after multi-function switch replacement. I replaced the multi-function switch after noticing the fogs lights staying on when not engaged. When the new switch and flasher relay were installed, the lights worked correctly however, I could not get the turn signals or the hazard lights to work. After ordering a 2nd multi-function switch and installing it, nothing worked. I have installed the 1st replacement switch again and found that the under hood fuse for the hazard light had blown. Any replacement with a new fuse shorts out immediately. I have looked for frayed wires without any luck. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you need to start with fog light problem I am guessing we do not know for sure the switch was the cause, if you can remove them from the equation. When checking for shorts make sure you check light bulbs to,
Next, since the multi function switch was the next step in your problem solving, I suggest you remove the new switch check out all wires to the connector, be especially careful to make sure none of wires have pulled out or partially pulled out of the connector. Let me know when you finish this then we can move on to continuity testing.
My best guess is the connector as it is common to both your fog light and multi-function switch,
Above all don't let it get to you, these problems can be frustrating but they also can be interesting and fun especially with the right assistant

How do I replace the fog light assembly on a 2000 Olds Alero?

you replace the fog lamps by going under front bumper fascia.remove the pushpins and take down the splash shield to access the back of the fog lamps.then you remove two bolts retaining the fog lamp to the back of front bumper.besure to wear clean gloves.because fog lamps is halogen bulbs.if you touch with bare hands the oils from hands will make the bulbs over heat and blow out.

fog lights came on; can't turn them off

1.At first take out the foglight's fuse before you battery is dead. (Fog lights stays "ON" even you leave the car).

2.You must replace the Multifunction control switch =(

Here is the photo of problem:

Fog lights are connected to pin 13,14.
Fog light switch is "B". Because the current is many Amps, contact surfaces are heating up.
After that the contact opening "C" is melting (made of plastic) so the fog light stays "ON".

Easy - slide under front of car, twist bulb out, twist new one in. Make sure you don't touch the new bulb glass.

jvc cd power

Check connections behind dash, especially ground. Make sure no wires are crossed/touching, and make sure all connections are strong. If still a problem check grounding from battery to frame....maybe even consider running the "ground" wire from your CD player to your frame.
