Small engine not getting fuel

When working on small engines most of the time the main jet is plugged because of seasonal use and gas becomes sludge in fuel bowl. Clean out main jet with small wire that will fit. On techcumshi engines there is a hole that is in the side of the threads that is really small and will affect the idle. clean the bowl well or that gunk will get in the jets again soon.

why can't i get gas to my sparkplug cylinder? i am able to get gas to the fuel bowel by pushing the primer. if i pour a small amount of gas into the sparkplug hole and the engine will start briefly.

Your fuel jet is plugged. Take fuel bowl off and clean it and the jet screw should be what holds the bowl in place. Either take a thin wire or compressed air and clean out the little holes in the jet and reinstall. Most of the time that will solve the problem.

Why does my Honda 3000 PSI (2.4 GPM) pressure shut off when I push the choke to the open position? Doesn't matter if engine is cold or hot.

Your choke controls the mixture of fuel and air. An engine will run rich if it has a restriction to air flow. Try removing the air cleaner, if after this you can turn off the chock you have a dirty air cleaner.

Lawn mower will run with gas poured into carburetor, but will not start when pulled

Take the fuel bowl off and clean it out and clean the fuel jet which quite often is the bolt that holds the fuel bowl on. I use an air compressor to do this but some times you can blow it out other ways. Sometimes a small fine wire can be used to clean those small holes. A plugged fuel jet will not let the engine run properly.

lawn mower husqvarna problem

I have an XT721F self-propelled, auto choke Husqvarna mower. The first time I used it this season it ran for a short time and then just quit on me. I have since emptied out all of the gas and have replaced it with high octane 91, and have also added Seafoam to clean out any other issues. I mowed two weeks ago with no problems and went to mow again today and only made it through 2/3 of my back yard and the mower stalled out on me again. What's going on?

mower will not run in high speed idles at one speed push throttle it runs at the same speed then stalls out whith lots of gas in the carb

Your carbs main jet is most likely blocked. When the throttle goes off the idle jet to the main jet there isnt enough fuel flow and the engine stalls.

You need to removed the main jet and run a small piece of wire through the main jet to clear it. This is a good time to look at the inside of the float bowl to see if you have excessive water, rust or dirt accumulating that is a sign you should clean and drain the fuel tank and lines as well. The main jet is actually the bolt that holds the fuel bowl on the bottom of the carb! You need to look very close at the jet near the top of the threads to see the little whole there and clean it. A wire brush to clean off the threads and fine piece of wire strand to clean the hole will do the trick!

If you dont have a bowl type carb you will need to remove the carb from the fuel tank and locate and clean the inlet screen and main jet and then remove the fuel tank and clean it out too.

Good luck and be careful.
