Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How do I "Reset" my........

Ok, many things will work again only after they are "Reset" now to reset your device, if it has a battery, it MUST be removed totally, if on Power, it must be removed, if on BOTH, both must be removed, wait 5 mins or so, then look around the edge back, side, of your unit for a small hole & or button, while the battery is out,power off, depress this button for say 10 seconds, then reattach battery and power up. The unit, with any luck, it should be working again. If it doesn't work first time, simply try again, BUT this time wait like 20 mins, before you try to press the "Reset" button. Hopefully NOW you will be all good. If not then you have some "Other" sort of problem that will NOT respond to this method of fix.

My Kocaso Android Tablet 4GB it loads to the android logo n stays there is there a way to reset the tablet

Hi.

If you recently had a modification on your ROM, you may be experiencing a BOOT LOOP which is common to Android Tablets. A factory reset would be the best solution to that. Here's how to do it;

Turn-off your Tablet by long-pressing your power button. To be sure it's totally shutdown, wait for at least 30 seconds before proceeding to factory reset. If your tablet's battery can be removed, it would help if you detach the battery and put it back again before proceeding.

Resetting your Tablet to factory setting erases all the data in your tablet's memory, so you have to be ready to encode all contacts again and stuff like that.

Factory Reset Proper;

1. Press VOLUME UP and POWER button at the same time without releasing until the device boots to "Recovery Mode".

2. In Recovery Mode, scroll down by pressing VOLUME DOWN until you reach the option "Swipe Data/Factory Reset" or any equivalent to Factory Reset therein.

3. Follow through the succeeding menus until the device initiates the reset.

Note: If your Device has a HOME button (usually located at the Center-bottom of the LCD), the buttons to be pressed to enter into Recovery Mode are HOME and POWER at the same time. Release only after the device shows it boots in Recovery Mode.

I hope this helps you.

with most routers there is a reset button you can hold in for about 10 seconds which will return the device to factory settings. If this does not work try the 30 30 30 reset:
with the router powered on press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then without releasing the reset button, pull the power cable from the device and wait a further 30 seconds, then plug the power back in again without releasing the reset button for a final 30 seconds. You can then power off and back on and (fingers crossed) it should be OK. If this is not the case then it is bricked and unless you are good with electronics hardware you should just replace the item.

Will not turn on, and will not charge, totally dead

Or if all you get is a green light when its plugged into an external charger, then you could have blown one of two Microchips on the charging circuit and to get it working again they will have to be replaced. If it has just become corrupt you can try resetting the tomtom
To reset your TomTom device, do the following:
  1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
    Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.

  2. Remove the SD card
    If your device uses an SD card, remove it.

  3. Reset your device.
    Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for at least 15 to 20 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

  4. Turn your device on.
    Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

  5. Insert the SD card
    If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

Exact location of reset hole is in the picture below

OMG a VIA CPU note book, what POS.?
dont feel bad i have Intel Atom, same POS. slug.

the big one.?
does it run ok with no battery?
no then the power pack is dead
if it runs ok , with no battery that means the battery is no good, as most are now, this old.

if it runs with no battery and BIOS screens work
and then boots ok, and run on a/c on all day then its ok pc , right?
