Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Get a faster start of your PC on Windows OS

The main reason of ur PC started a little harder than u would expect is that too many programs run at the startup. In most of the times many of these programs are not so important and could be run at a further time.

So what you need to do:

Click Start Button than click Run. Type msconfig and click the StartUp Tab . I think it's the 6th top tab . (that is in Windows XP Os). From there u can select or deselect what u consider that is usefull or else.

This file runs every time the computer is turned on and slows it down. Is there a way to remove it? I did remove it one time but can't remember what I did.

You need to specify what "file" runs every time the computer restarts.
Assuming you have Windows XP, you should check first in your "Startup" folder (Go to START -> PROGRAMS -> STARTUP). The "file" that runs every time the computer is turned on should be there. If it's not, please report back fro further assistance.

It takes too long to start up

Try deleting your temp files to clear up space as well as run hard drive defragment and disk clean up. This helps most time. If you find that your systems is still running slow, you may need to add more memory to process the data you have on your hard drive.

Good Luck

Actually there are many reasons why your computer will boot up slow. I can only give you some tips.

Click start>run>type msconfig. On the startup tab uncheck any program that you don't need on startup.

Delete Prefetch files. Prefetch files are being created by windows when you open a program so thaht the next time you open the program it will pull up faster. But having too much prefetch helps slow your computer down on startup because it loads on startup. to delete go to start>run> type prefetch. delete all that you will see there.

For trojan problems the best way to remove them is by running a scan of updated antivurus program. If you don't have one. try SuperAntispyware. it worked for me. =)
