Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Easy way to set the background picture on your Windows XP desktop (wallpaper)

Customizing the picture on your Windows XP desktop, also known as "wallpaper", is an easy way to personalize your computer. You can use a picture of anything you choose; your loved ones, pets, vacation snapshots, Elvis dancing with the Tooth Fairy, the sky is literally the limit!

In order to get started, locate a picture you would like to make your desktop image. Select it, and in the Tasks pane on the left side, choose "Set as Desktop Background".

It's as easy as that!

(Advanced hint: If you'd like to make changes to the picture's orientation, or tiling, or stretching, you can right-click the desktop, and then click Properties. Choose the Desktop tab and you can make adjustments. )

Dear user,

Unforetunately you cannot do anything to your desktop background because that is the default feature of Windows 7 Starter Edition.
You have to upgrade at least Home Premium of your Operating System for you to change it .

how do i change my wallpaper on my desktop?

It depends on what operating system you are using.

In general though you need to right-click an empty space on the desktop and choose either Properties or Personalize.

Just go through the different tabs until you see the one related to backgrounds, shouldn't take more than a few seconds to find the right one. After that just switch your wallpaper and you're good to go :)

You could also just do a google search for "hd wallpaper" find one you like and then right-click the picture and choose 'Set as Desktop Background" that way is pretty easy too ;)
