Tip & How-To about Toys
Mr.Christmas does not offer ANY tech support or dis-assembly diagrams. Once you purchase it, that's it. But......you can try this:
The carousel consists of an outer roof which snaps around an inner roof (where the horse poles insert; there are four tabs that keep it attached to the outer roof).
Outer roof removal;
You need to carefully remove the "crown" (which is glued on)
You may be able to use a blow drier on the hot setting to soften the glue,but not too hot to overheat any parts. Twist and pull gently and carefully remove the crown. Once the crown is removed, you'll should see a screw. Remove the screw to remove the outer roof.
Make notes of screws and parts from where they came from and where the components are located. Once the roof is removed, you should see the light circuit and connection pad. You will need to unsolder two wires from the wipers,taking care not to loose the springs.You can now unscrew the nut which holds the light contact bracket in place. Take care in removing this piece., then unscrew the contact board while pulling it over the central shaft. You should now be able to remove the inner roof, and you can lift up the main assembly.
You now are at the base and several screws holding the motor and central shaft to the plastic base. This will come free but will remain wired to the switches. This carousel is driven by a bunch of rubber bands,and If there is no rubber band connecting the shaft to the drive motor,than you have found the problem. If you find that the motor does not function or work, you can check the wiring that runs from the switch to the motor for a bad connection or break in the connection. To reassemble, just reverse the previous instructions. You may have to rotate the roof to allow it to fall into place, it should only go on one way.
