Tip & How-To about Cameras

Web Cam in use by another application, Fix.

Ok to fix this dreaded problem see below.
1. Open regedit, Start>>Run>>regedit
2. Open the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
3. Make sure the value of UpperFilters contains ksthunk line. Add it if missing.

Some software will remove this Control filter. As well sometimes when programs are uninstalled they leave extra empty lines in the UpperFilters values for other classes, so go and manually remove them - otherwise some of the devices appeared with the yellow exclamation mark under Device Manager.

Hope it helps

how i can reuse the norton 360 v 4.3.0.5 Its trial period is expired. Plz send me product key or trial reseter. special thanks

Please remove the existing version of Norton program from the control panel, then go ahead and delete all Symantec and Norton files from the computer's C or D drive.

After that, open your registry and first take a back up just in case anything get deleted by mistake.
Then delete all Norton and Symantec files from HK CURRENT USER, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, HKEY USERS, HKEY CURRENT CONFIG.

You can click on the SOFTWARE folder in each class to find the Norton files if any.
To open your registry editor, type regedit in RUN command (windows key+R)

After that you can again install a trial version of Norton for 30 days.

Hi..

To get rid of this problem you need to delete all the hp icon from printers and faxes.
then go to start--run--regedit--hkey local machine--system--current control set--enum--usb and delete the hp keys starting with vid_003 and vid_000 ,once done try connecting the usb cable...a new icon will be generated and issue will get resolved.

optical drive not playing

This may not apply but it's worth a shot....

Click Start > Run
Type Regedit in the run box.
Open "HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > SYSTEM > CURRENT CONTROL SET > CONTROL > CLASS >
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Look for keys called "Upper Filters" and "Lower Filters" and delete any values inside those keys, then restart the machine.

Note: If using Vista, be sure to right-click Regedit in the program list and choose "Run as Administrator", otherwise it won't let you change the values of the key.

Hope this helps,
