Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Trouble installing & using 64 Bit Drivers, look here.

You have to INSTALL & RUN, EVERYTHING as Administrator. PLUS You MUST Disable Digital Driver Signing too, in any 64bit version. So you have to press F8 at startup. EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to load the driver & to use the printer. So you, go to bottom of the F8, list and select Disable Driver Signing. Now you must do this. to INSTALL and USE. Try that I bet it will work. EVERY TIME F8

I have an emachine with Windows 7 and cannot install my xerox 6180N PS or 6180DN PS. It looks like it installs, but when I test print I get a message that there is a windows error and does not recognize printer. HELP

You MUST install ALL software and Drivers, as Administrator. It MUST be a Win 7 Driver, OR you MUST install incompatibility mode for Win XP SP2. as Administrator, again
IF using a 64 bit version Windows, you must disable digital signature signing... Press F8 at bootup and choose from menu, right at bottom.

I am unable to get my printshop propublisher deluxe 21 to run on windows 7.

Try Installing as Administrator, BOTH installing and "Run" the .exe as Administrator. Also try setting again both install .exe and the run .exe, in "Compatibility Mode" for XP SP2. to do this right click, .exe and select properties, then choose compatibility, mode and set there. If Win 7 on 64bit, remember to turn OFF digital driver signing, press F8 at boot time, and select at bottom of list.

I cannot make my Canon Lide 80 work in my Toshiba windows 7. I downloaded driver and toolbox from Canon support site, but still don't work. I followed the instructions on the site for the installation, Scaner respond but toolbox goes idle (not responding) and no scan.

have you installed latest .net framework, this may help, also did you install Everything as Administrator? Also "Run" all .exe's as Administrator too. If Win 7 on a 64bit system, remember to turn OFF Digital Driver Signing, at boot time by pressing F8, & disabling it there every time you boot the PC. That feature MUST be disabled to install it too.

Sony Vaio AW190 random lock-ups

It is all to do with 64 bit Digital Signing of drivers. may I suggest that you format the drive again... completely "Flatten it" then reformat, and reinstall Vista 32BIT. Most of your problems will disappear. The 64 bit version is plagued with "Driver" issues and doesn't play nice with lots of things and the Digital Driver Signing is a real bear, If you are to use Non-signed drivers you MUST press F8 at boot time and disable digital driver signing.. a real bug bear to do. In any even there is NOT a huge performance hit in any case as most programs aren't written nor use the 64 bit architecture anyway. If you must use 64bit then ensure you assemble your 64bit Digitally Signed Drivers, and have them at hand when doing the install.
