Step 1: Inspect and clean your disc Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Clean your disc 1. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. 2. Using a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth, lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. Note Do not use solvents to clean the disc. 3. Once the disc is clean, load the disc into your console and see if the disc plays. If the disc still does not play, try step 2. Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. 2. If the problem happens with several discs of different types (games, DVDs, and CDs), skip to “Step 7: Request a repair” below. If a specific game disc will not play: 1. I was playing a game yesterday and stopped for about 2 hours. I then turned my xbox on and put in a movie, started to get the "open tray" message. I tried several other CD's and games but it didn't work. Any tips? -Brian
