Tip & How-To about Creative Technology ZEN V Plus (1 GB) Digital Media Player

Creative Zen V Plus , 4GB

Heres a few tips to prolong the very short life of the Zen V Plus 4GB.

- Do not leave it in your docking station for long periods of time , this only wears down the battery and will most certainly kill it. This apply's to any form of vigorous charging.
- Don't think its crashed , always check that the lock button is off.
- Always remember the reset button on the side , its a better option than smashing it against a wall , like I'm about to with mine.
- Always install the correct Zen Software , instead of installing music and pictures directly into the folder when you syncronize it with your computer.

Here is my greatest tip of all ;

Don't buy one , save up , get an ipod , Zen's hate people, and now people hate Zen's

the pc froze whill i was uploading music onto my creative zen v plus and now the screen on the handset says docked and has the docked picture on it with flashing red lights either side. the handset is not responding to me pressing any buttons.

Try holding the power button down for an extended period of time. If this does not work, there should be a small hole on the side of the device that will reset the player. You'll need to use a paper clip to press the button inside the hole, similar to ejecting a cd/dvd that is stuck in a computer. Hold the button down for several seconds to reset the device.

cd player does not read a cd anymore, have had the system for exactly one year

Simply use a CD cleaner to clean the lens of the player. After prolonged use the lens becomes dirty & requires to be cleaned periodically, however thats in case the cd is spinning(one can hear it)

Creative ZEN 4GB

Hi, I had the same problem with my Zen V Plus. I held the volume + button in and connected the Zen to the computer using the USB cable and the Zen came back to life ! Try it - it might just work like it did for me.
