Tip & How-To about Dryers

If your dryer works but no heat

Whirlpool, kenmore, roper, kitchenaid, inglis,if your dryer works but no heat most of the time it is a blown fuse,or bad heating coil, cause of a blown fuse can be power surge, clogged wall vent, clogged dryer lint vent box, unplug, remove back cover, look to your right and you will see the heater box, look on the left side near the top and you will see a small fuse, this is your heater box fuse,if not the fuse, the heating coil is near the bottom,1 screw on each side, remove and look for broken wire,if you have a meter, you can check the fuse and heater coil-mike

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.
