Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to make a Media center Shortcut.

Windows 7 Media center have multiple switches for customization.
Here is a list bellow.
/nostartupanimation stops the startup sound and Windows Media Center logo "pebble" going off into the distance /noshutdownui removes the "shutdown" item from the tasks menu /mediamode starts in media only mode (no close/minimize/maximize options in top right corner) /widescreen start in widescreen mode, even on 4:3 display (windowed only) /nochrome display windowed mode Media Center but without the window chrome /playallmusic plays all your music instantly /playfavslideshow plays your favorite slideshows only /playfavslideshowwithmusic plays your favorite slideshow with music /playslideshow plays all slideshows /playslideshowwithmusic plays all slideshows with music /screensaver starts the Media Center screensaver /configuress starts Media Center at the "configure screensaver" screen Examples: %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe "/mcesuperbar://tv?live=true" – That will start Media Center in LiveTV mode
Yo can create custom shortcut by doing the following : Start > All Programs > Windows Media Center, and right click on it. Select properties. Under "target" you will see "%windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe".

Simply add the switches you wish Media Center to start with and hit OK.
For example, if your shortcut looked like the following: %windir%\Ehome\Ehshell.exe /nostartupanimation /noshutdownui /mediamode

how can i change my wallpaper? i had samsung n150pus.. i tried to look up in control panel setting i coud'nt see or find it!o

Hi fforinas,
Welcome to FixYa! How are you doing?
Are you using Windows 7 Starter Edition? If yes, then you cannot change the wallpaper.
Windows 7 Starter has limitations:

Windows 7 Starter does not include:

* Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the Windows Basic or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
* Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
* The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
* 64 bit version
* Multi-monitor support.
* DVD playback.
* Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
* Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
* Domain support for business customers.
* XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.

I suggest that you upgrade your Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.
Hope that helps. Thank you for using FixYa.

Is it giving you a message as NO SCAN OPTIONS in the front panel of your All-In-One...?
If yes and if the software is insatlled sucessfully in you computer then try the steps mentioned bellow.
If the software is not installed then you will have to install the software for your All-In-One First.

And If the software is successfully installed in your computer, then you should have a icon in your desktop as HP Solution /HP Director (if not got to Start> All Programs>
HP> HP Solution Center)/HP Director Then try scanning from there, if you are able to scan from there then try the steps bellow.
Open solution center> Settings> Scan settings> Scan to setup> Then in this window click on Restore defaults> Then apply or ok and close all the windows and try to scan from the
All-In-One printer.
If it still does not work then try the bellow steps:
Go to:
My computer>C:windows>system32
Copy hpzipm12
minimize this window
Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
minimize this window.
Go back to My computer>C:>windows>system32
Copy hpzinw12
minimize this window

Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
Now you will see two new files in Startup
Now go to My Computer>C:Program Files>HP>Digital Imaging>bin>
Copy hpqtra08
close this window
Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste
Restart the computer
Open Hp Solution Center> Settings>Scan settings and preferences> Scan to button>
