Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
I have been caught out in the past at Job Interviews where you have a file that wont play on the Laptop that you have been given due to lack of installed codec's especially the AC3 Dolby Digital 5.1 Codec that is the standard DVD-Video codec
This executable HERE will install and is based on LoRd MuldeR's free MPlayer it will package up your media file with the player and all that is required to ensure that it will play when you need it the most. He is also the author of the excellent AVIdemux for Windows and the Mencoder264 with support for the H.264 free encoder library Check out his WEBSITE he also has a wicked duplicate file remover based on the MD5 hash file info so only true duplicates are removed.
If the first method fails for you then visit this WEBSITE the Audio/Video to EXE convertor/player available HERE that will allow you video to play on a PC or Laptop that is missing the codecs within the file, this site also has JS, VBS and BAT convetors to EXE for script protection check out my tip HERE that shows how to do this with SP3 installed the Microsoft version only works with SP2
When used along with Microsoft PowerPoint you can package both the PPT and AVI/MPG2 files that you need and off you go knowing that unless your lose your USB stick you can shine on the day when it really matters despite the lack of software on the host laptop.
