Free Cycle

Do you want to reduce junk in land fills, help the earth and others? Join FreeCycle. There may or may not be a FreeCycle in your area. Just check on line buy searching, for ex., "free cycle San Francisco".

You can post items to offer or request. Selling is not allowed. Joining is easy. You'll get e-mail, sometimes 2 a day, sometimes none, it depends on how much members are posting. There are guidelines for safe exchange of items.

Members use FreeCycle forum to ask for recommendations, post announcements of interest to the community (like free activities or special local sales), and help each other.

I've freecycled a will making CD, beads and an organizer. So far I have not received anything. I'm trying to get rid of stuff.

The main objective of FreeCycle is to reduce trash, so keep that in mind if you ask for items.

how can we help keep the invironment beautiful.

The Three R's:
* Reduce -- use less material that ends-up in a land-fill
* Reuse -- use materials more than once
* Recycle -- divert materials (plastics, paper, glass, metal) before they reach the land-fill

Need cord for White Sewing Machine Fashionair 2380

White sewing machines are now owned by http://www.svpworldwide.com who also sell other machines. There are a few ways you can check for the cord you need:

1. look at your local phone book for a sewing machine dealer in your area. If they don't have one that will work they should know where you can get one from or order one for you. If it's the power cord one for a different machine may work too.

2. look on ebay for it

3. or go to an online parts site like this one and see if they can get one for you http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/white-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?track-home

4. You may also be able to look /ask for one on your local freecycle group. Someone may have an old broken machine that has a good cord they will just give you. If you don't belong to one go to freecycle.com and look for one in your town and join it. It is a free email group where people give away stuff they no longer need. Some groups allow requests as well.

i moved and lost the clear board that came with it ( what the material lays on and has a ruler on it) this part has 4 legs, clicks into the machine for easy sewing.. its about 12 longs and about 5 inch wide. guess , and wish i could think of whats it is called...any ways it need to order this and not sure how to... this is pretty close to what my model looks like..

I haven't been able to locate the company nor parts anywhere on the net. However a few suggestions that might help you...

1. look on ebay! Often when someone has something that has broken they will sell parts off of it on ebay.

2. Go to a locate business that sells the machine and ask if they will order the part for you.

3. Join freecycle in your area and post a request for one (see #1 above). Freecycle are email lists by area where people post items they are giving away and you can requested "wanted" items too. Perhaps someone happens to have just what you are looking for.

If you live in a large area, try a google search for the yahoo group freecycle, If there is one in your area see if you can join and then ask if someone has one you can have or they will copy for you. Freecycle is a great group of people giving items and services away in their area.
