Tip & How-To about Cameras

How to install a USB Webcam.

If it is a USB webcam, then First BEFORE you plug anything in, install the software/drivers, that came with the Camera. When installed, reboot. Then when at desktop next, plug in the USB cable. The Camera will/should detected by the PC, it may ask for drivers, if so point it to where the CD/Drivers are, when it seems finished, reboot. Now, when your PC reboots this time your camera should be ready to use. You can use your webcam either with the software program that came with it and you installed. Or you can get a program, freeware, called AmCap2.

Go to that link above, click on the link to download the software, download, the file, when downloaded, Run, the program, and it will install your software just follow any instructions. usually you install the software, if asked plug in camera, if not, install reboot, and at next desktop, insert webcam's USB cable, it should be detected, and a Driver installed, it may ask where they are show them the downloaded files, after it finishes, reboot, at next desktop, you should be able to use your camera.
Get a program called AMCAP, it is a great camera testing software.

i want to install a webcam on windows xp

Hi,
Try this website where you can scan hardwares installed on your computer : http://www.download.com/...
You have to authorize the installation of Active X.
Normally, if your camera is detected, you should get links to download the driver.

thank you

how to install webcam

Following Step to Connect Webcam:-
1. Read the installation instructions completely before attempting to install the camera. Although this may seem tedious and unnecessary, it can save time and headaches in the long run.
2. Back up the computer's hard drive just to be safe. This will allow for a speedy recovery should the installation mess up the computer.
3. Install the webcam software. Before deciding to install the disc that came with the camera, check the Internet for an updated version of the software and download that if available.
4. Plug in the webcam. The software should give a prompt at the appropriate time. Cameras are usually installed with a USB cable. If installed correctly, the computer will acknowledge so by popping up a message saying it can see the new device.
5. Download an instant message program if using the web camera for chatting. Some free IM download programs include Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger and Apple iChat.

I cant get my webcam to work with the Flash Flash Revolution video chat....

This webcam comes with ArcSoft Video Impressions. Once the webcam is installed I would open up Video Impressions, go to New, Capture and click on the little eyeball looking thing for live view. A black screen most commonly is that you are installing a nonVista certified webcam on a Vista machine. If this is the case, this webcam has workaround instructions located at www.jascoproducts.com, support, browse and update Vista and then scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a PDF that you need to download and follow those instructions. It's not a guaranteed fix as this webcam is not Vista certified, but it may work. If you are getting a VFW driver, you need to go to Microsoft.com and download the latest DirectX. This will give you the video driver you need. I hope this helps!
