Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
I see people gnashing their teeth and grumbling about their "Player" whatever sort, will NOT play some of the CD's DVD's they feed it... well here is why..This almost always happens if the Lasers in your device are going faulty, either that or a thing called a "Quadrant Detector" is going the same way.. You see, the software in an attempt to "read" over any scratches or imperfection on the disks, ramps the Current to the Laser Diode, up & down, well, too much of this, is NOT good for the laser, and detector at all, a few times would/may be OK, but often it is made to read them over and over again, sometimes discs are left in the Player going around and around again and again.... well eventually those two components wear out, not actually fully fail, but become damaged... This then causes these problems you are experiencing. You see, there are actually TWO lasers, One for CD's & One for DVD's, sometimes, ONLY one will go faulty. usually the DVD one as this generally has more current going to it anyway. There is no "Quick Fix", The head assembly will simply have to be replaced to restore full functionality. I know this is NOT what most people wish to hear.. don't shoot the messenger. Hope that helps.
