toshiba- L755D- keypad- mixed- up- spacebar- puts- a- dash- between words the i button goes to full screen and the o button opens a developer tool window

Maybe a virus or infection has hijacked the keyboard. Try booting into Safe Mode and see if it works. Also while in safe mode download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. Open your internet browser, then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

If after the above steps you still have the problem try downloading and reinstalling the touchpad driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Toshiba Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

If the issue still exists try Rolling your System back to a date and time before the keyboard started acting up by running System Restore.

Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Select a Restore Point (date and time) that is before you started having problems. System Restore does not delete you data, documents music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the restore point you selected).

System Recovery loses all your data, documents, music, pictures, videos and programs. It sets your system back to the time you first purchased it.

I had my laptop for about a week and after i downloaded itunes, vuze and skpe it has been restarting by itself. I scaned all the program and i didn't find a virus.I removed all the programs i downloaded and i have still had the same problem. I have McAfee Internet Security Suite and it didn't detect any viruses. I think it might be an undetected virus and if so what should i do to fix it?

Well, I have few questions to troubleshoot this issue. First, let me know what's the operating system installed on the system. Do you get any error? like blue screen with white texts or black screen with white texts. Can you notice specific time that it restarts itself, some systems restarts itself after 1 hour or some 2 hours.

The best and the fastest fix it System Restore. If you haven't tried it, please do it now and in case the problem persists, we'll try another. To run the system restore, click "Start" > "All Programs" > "Accessories" > "System Tools" > "System Restore", a new window will open (System Restore window), select "Restore my system to earlier time" > "Next" then select any previous date from the calendar lists available on the left hand side of the window (select a date when the computer had no problem [just click on the date]). "Next" > "Ok", your system will restart itself after few seconds, so you need to be aware of that before you run the system restore. You need not to configure the system restore, the wizard will do it for you.

Another method is system registry cleaning and unused system files cleaning. You can download a cleaner here, open the link, click "Download Now", wait for 20 seconds and again click "Download file now", save the file, install it and run the program. Click "run cleaner" and proceed forward, after it's done, click "Registry" > "Scan for issues" > "Fix all selected issues" > "No" > "Fix all selected issues" > "Close" and close the program, restart your program and check if it helps or not.

I wish you good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I think getting on and off of the internet is slower then dial up

download atf cleaner to your desktop. open and run it . www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1
Once it opens click on "select all" then "empty selected" . always run it until you get the message "no files were removed". This may take two or three runs.
I use this program EVERY time I close my broswer as it empties ALL the trash from the junk folders in windows collected from the internet, all at once. No more emptying 6 different files or waiting for a spyware detector to go through all the junk files. It just empties them, is a free programs and is very fast and efficient.
p.s. If you have a virus on the computer , it will refresh itself everytime you run atf cleaner never allowing you to get the "no files were found" message- in this case start your computer in safe mode and run your virus scanner: making sure it is up to date.
