Tip & How-To about Drills

Slipping screw driver

How often have you been screwing a screw and the screwdriver repeatedly slips out of the screw slot.
If you have a pool table take one of those old que chalks and rub it on the tip of the screwdriver. No more slipping!! I keep a chalk in my tool box.

How do I fix one of the frame support buttons on a Bugaboo Cameleon, as the lefthand button is stuck?

Do you mean the tilt buttons? If so you need to disassemble the buttons, which can be done with two screwdrivers one a thin slot type the other a phillips. Here's the process: 1. Behind the white button is a screw. Remove it using the phillips screwdriver. 2. You'll now have a black housing with a white button held in by three white tabs. 3. Free the white button from the housing by pressing inwards on each of the three tabs with the slot type screwdriver. 4. You'll now have a black base, a spring and a white button. 5. Sand the circumference of the white button evenly until it slips easily in and out of the black surround. A little silicon spray is a good idea. 6.Reassemble and repeat for the other side.

Continue to turn in a counter clockwise motion until you can feel that the screw is completely free turing. Step 2. disassembly2.gif Grasp the end of the screw with the tip of a pair of tweezers and remove the screw from the link. Set the screw in a safe place for reassembly. pump leaking

Some impellers have a screw in the middle which screws into the centershaft with reverse threads. If it has one, unscrew that first. Next, there is either a flat on the shaft near the opposite end or there is a slot in the end of the shaft for a screwdriver. Hold the shaft securely, and unscrew impeller. Sometimes a big pair of pliers is needed, but be careful not to damage impeller.
